Mr. Waller is a founding partner and managing member
of M3 Funds, LLC. Mr. Waller has over 10 years experience
analyzing and investing in the bank and thrift sector.
As a portfolio manager, he
focuses on investment analysis, risk management,
and portfolio construction.
Mr. Waller has obtained and exercised
a unique array of experiences in prior positions.
Most recently, he was employed by Hovde Capital Advisors
LLC, in Washington, DC, where he spent over six years
working with the firm’s series of financial services sector investment
funds. At Hovde, Mr. Waller participated in several
facets of the organization, including portfolio management,
investment analysis, risk management, trading, capital
raising, investor relations, recruiting, training,
and management of employees. Additionally, he worked
for the firm of Mangan & McColl Partners LLC in
Charlotte, North Carolina where he was the primary
analyst focused on the financial services sector. Also,
Mr. Waller spent two years working on the floor of
the New York Stock Exchange as an analyst and trading
assistant at the firm of Dippell & Company, a registered
competitive market maker. Finally, he spent two years
as an analyst for Dougan & Associates, a private
investment company based in Salt Lake City, Utah where
he was introduced to the bank and thrift sector.
In addition to his work experience, Mr. Waller has
spent a significant amount of time studying and following
the regulatory structure and trends of the banking
and credit union system in the United States. In his
leisure time, besides traveling, running, skiing, and
spending time in the outdoors, Mr. Waller has attended
many congressional hearings and enjoys monitoring all
aspects of the evolution of the financial services
sector. In doing this, he has established a vast network
of relationships in the financial services industry.
Mr. Waller received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting
from the University of Utah. In charitable endeavors,
Will has been an active volunteer in organizations
such as Junior Achievement, World Vision, The Dinner
Program for Homeless Women, Big Brothers Big Sisters,
and is a member of the advisory committee for the Washington,
DC area Academy of Finance.
